New Offering - The CAREC Strategic Training Exchange Program (C-STEP).
Do you wish you could not only see a project in action, but hear how it impacted every aspect of a utilityâs business modelâfrom
procurement and planning to operations and customer engagement? Do you wish you could speak face-to-face with best-in-class storage
vendors, to share your utilityâs needs and understand where the technology is really headed? Youâre not alone. Across the region, these
questions have been echoed in side conversations, panel discussions, and working group sessions. The CAREC team has spent the past few
years listeningâand what we heard was clear: utilities need more than one-size-fits-all training. They need spaces to learn with each other,
from projects that mirror their own challenges, in contexts that reflect the realities of Caribbean grids. Time is of the essence and
CARILEC utilities are trying to take the next critical steps towards an energy resilient future but we have to go together!Â
Â
Thatâs how the CAREC Strategic Training Exchange Program (C-STEP) was bornâshaped by feedback from the Battery Storage and Grid
Operators Working Group, CARILEC members, and partners across the sector. C-STEP is a week-long, on-site learning exchange designed to
rethink how we build regional capacity. Starting with energy storage, it brings together utility teams, regulators, and solution providers to
work through real project challengesâtogether. Less about theory, more about practice. Less about talking, more about solving. Participants
will not only explore the technical side of storage, but also how it fits into the broader utility business model. At the same time, vendors gain
a rare chance to hear directly from utility leaders about the regionâs unique needs and priorities. As we prepare to launch the inaugural
C-STEP 2025-2026 cohort, we invite you to help shape the experience. Letâs do things differentlyâand build a smarter, more collaborative
energy future for the Caribbean.

We want you to be a part of building C-STEP!
Whether youâre a utility professional, regulator, vendor, or partner organization, your insights can help us design an experience that is hands-on, relevant, and truly regional.
We’ll also be hosting virtual insight sessions to gather feedback, share early ideas, and co-create future curriculum and exchange opportunities.
