Your Commitment:

Welcome to the CARILEC Resilient Energy Community! We’re so excited to have you join this collaborative space for energy professionals across the Caribbean. Our goal is to create a friendly and supportive environment where we can all learn, share ideas, and drive innovation in resilient energy solutions. To help us achieve this, we’ve put together these guidelines. By being a part of our community, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct, which is built on principles of respect, collaboration, and safety.

Be Kind and Respectful:

  • Treat everyone in our community with kindness, respect, and consideration. We value the diverse perspectives, expertise, and experiences that each member brings.

  • Communicate openly and respectfully, even when you have differing opinions. Critique ideas, not individuals.

  • Be mindful of your language. Avoid personal attacks, harassment, bullying, discriminatory remarks, or any other behavior that could make others feel unwelcome or unsafe. This includes offensive comments related to age, appearance, body size, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, national origin, physical or cognitive ability, political affiliation, sexual orientation, race, or religion.

  • Remember that what might be acceptable to one person may not be to another. Use discretion and aim to communicate clearly and respectfully. Even humor intended in jest can be hurtful if it crosses the line into harassment.

Collaborate and Share Knowledge:

  • Our community thrives on the sharing of knowledge and experiences. We encourage you to contribute your insights, ask questions, and offer assistance to your fellow members.

  • Be open to new ideas and different approaches. Let’s work together to find innovative solutions for a more resilient energy future in the Caribbean.

  • If you’ve found a product, service, or resource helpful, share your experience with the group in a respectful way.

Keep Our Community Safe and Inclusive:

  • We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and inclusive space for everyone. Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.

  • Do not post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, obscene, defamatory, or that infringes upon the rights of others, including intellectual property rights. This includes hate speech, content that promotes self-harm, shows nudity, sells illegal products or services, includes graphic violence, or threatens public or personal safety.

  • Respect the privacy of other members. Do not share their personal information or content from private messages without their explicit consent.

  • If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify the community administrators as soon as possible.

Contribute Meaningfully and Responsibly:

  • Strive to make contributions that are relevant, thoughtful, and add value to the discussions and shared resources.

  • When sharing information, please cite your sources where appropriate.

  • Help keep our community organized by posting in relevant forums and using appropriate tags.

  • Avoid posting commercial messages, special offers, job postings, or solicitations for services in public areas. Contact individuals directly if you believe your product or service would be beneficial to them. CARILEC has a page dedicated to providing solicitation and provides that service digitally for our membership. The collaborative spaces and programmed activities are about sharing incites and connecting persons to expertise. 

Be Mindful of Cybersecurity and Data:

  • Protect your account by keeping your login credentials confidential and using a strong, unique password. Do not share your password with anyone.

  • Be cautious about the information you share on the platform. Avoid posting sensitive personal or organizational data in public areas.

  • Do not share content or information obtained from other users without their express consent.

  • Respect intellectual property rights. Only post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator. Do  not share copyrighted materials without the owner’s permission.

  • Be aware of and adhere to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service regarding data usage and intellectual property.

  • Report any suspicious activity, potential security concerns, or instances of copyright infringement to the community administrators immediately.

Friendly Reminders:

  • This is a professional community intended for collaboration and learning. Please maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all your interactions.

  • Community administrators and moderators reserve the right to moderate content, edit or remove posts that violate this Code of Conduct, and suspend or terminate accounts for repeated or egregious violations. Our goal is to ensure a positive and productive experience for all members.

  • We encourage you to extend the benefit of the doubt to newer members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
