Users retain ownership of their content but grant CARILEC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

C. Third-Party Content

The platform integrates third-party content (e.g., YouTube videos, external articles). CARILEC does not:

4. Terms of Use for the CAREC Knowledge Portal

By using the CAREC platform, you agree to the following:

You must use the platform lawfully and professionally. Prohibited actions include:

Violating the rights of others

B. User Responsibilities

CAREC integrates with several external platforms. Your use of these services is subject to their individual terms and privacy policies.

We currently use:

KeyCloak – Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication
Moodle – Learning Management System
Discourse – Online Forums
Zoom / Microsoft Teams – Webinars and Virtual Meetings (recordings may occur with notice)
YouTube / Vimeo – Video Hosting
Linode – Web Hosting Provider
CiviCRM / Salesforce / Mailchimp – Customer Relationship Management
NextCloud – Document Library Hosting

CARILEC is not responsible for third-party platform failures, data handling practices, or changes to their services.

6. In-Person Events & Training Participation

If you attend a CARILEC in-person event or workshop:

A. Media Consent

CARILEC may photograph, record, or film sessions
These may be used in future training, online materials, or promotional content
By attending, you consent unless you notify CARILEC staff in writing
You may be asked to sign a release form at registration

B. Respect for Presenters’ Copyright

Recording or distributing content from guest speakers or trainers without permission is strictly prohibited

7. Community Conduct & Risk Notice

A. Code of Conduct

Users must follow the CAREC Community Code of Conduct, which promotes:

Respectful communication
Professional collaboration
Zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech, or inappropriate behavior

B. User-Generated Content Accuracy

CARILEC does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of content shared by users. Always use your own professional judgment before acting on information.
